About Choir Membership

  • Subscriptions (£60 per term) are payable at the start of each term. Additional fees may be charged for special events to meet the cost of coaches etc. In exceptional circumstances, help may be given in cases of financial hardship.

  • Choir members are asked to provide their own choir uniform.

  • Music is lent to choir members and this should be kept in good condition. Parents will be invoiced for the cost of any lost or damaged music.

  • Members should not be absent for more than two rehearsals in one term without good reason. Notice should be given of absence or lateness.

  • We welcome and rely on parental help and support in a number of areas. Parents are asked to serve on a termly rota which is sent out before the start of each term. In practise this is not an onerous duty, as names are unlikely to come up more than twice a year and it gives parents an excellent opportunity to see the work of the choirs during rehearsals. We ask that the parent helping each week brings in some biscuits for choir members. It is the responsibility of parents on the rota to find a substitute if they cannot attend on the specified date.

  • Advance notice of performances and social events is given to parents by letter or e-mail. Permission slips are circulated to parents in advance and participation in events is dependent on the return of slips. Parents are encouraged to visit our website regularly. Please read and respond to all information as promptly as possible.

  • Choir members should bring their music, a pencil and a drink to all rehearsals.

  • Choir members should arrive at least 5 minutes but no more than 15 minutes before the rehearsal is due to start. Choir members should be collected promptly at the end of rehearsals or performances.

  • Mobile phones should be switched off during rehearsals and performances.
