Suzanne Newman, Musical Director
Suzanne Newman founded Jewel Tones and has been running choirs in the area since 1990.
She studied for a BA in Creative Arts at Bretton Hall College, West Yorkshire and returned there a year later to study for a PGCE in Music/Children with Special Educational Needs. After teaching in schools for four years, Suzanne became a self-employed teacher of piano and singing. She enjoys teaching all sorts of music to pupils of all ages and abilities.
She also enjoys going into schools to judge their inter-house music competitions. In her spare time, Suzanne loves reading, doing puzzles and learning the flute. Suzanne is a Member of Association of British Choral Directors.

Mary Daniels, Pianist
Mary Daniels studied music at East Anglia University and then spent many years working at the BBC as a research cataloguer, specialising in early music. After the birth of her daughter, she started work as a piano teacher and resumed piano lessons, achieving DipABRM diplomas in teaching and performing and LRSM in performing.
She gives regular recitals and is in wide demand as an accompanist. As well as playing for Jewel Tones, she is the accompanist for Reading Phoenix Choir, with whom she also sings. Currently she is working towards a Fellowship diploma in performing.
Pianist: Hayley Tull
Hayley Tull began learning the piano at the age of five and the flute at the age of seven. She accompanied choirs under Gwyn Arch as a teenager and continued to perform with instrumental soloists when she moved to Japan in 1993. She played the flute and piccolo with a professional orchestra whilst in Tokyo.
She also accompanies a ladies choir in Windsor and two children’s choirs in Bracknell. In addition, she enjoys playing for instrumental groups, exam candidates and teaching.
